‘Falling’ is an empowering indie-pop anthem and the video reflects the importance of confronting issues, and talking them through. It emphasises that the art of conversation can easily be lost to a phone or device, which can cause resentment or angst. 'Falling' is from the new album Ratatatat out October 20th.
The video is artfully shot by Director: Lee Bamsey and D.O.P Steven Gray and brilliantly shows our isolation due to technology, whilst Malka's upbeat and strong sense of melody restores the balance of power and importance of human contact. The track uses roots rhythms with a alt pop feel to create a dynamic track, brimming with musical accomplishament.
It’s the latest single to be taken from the upcoming album, and the Scottish alt-pop experimentalist has received great support from Drowned In Sound, Line Of Best Fit, The Independent and more ahead of its release. BBC 6Music have also been great supporters, with Lauren Laverne and Chris Hawkins particularly strong champions at the station.
She’s announced a seven-date UK tour in support of Ratatatat, which starts at Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh on November 1st and finishes at The Wonder Inn, Manchester on November 16th.
