The latest EP from Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester is well crafted folk pop with some solid musical arrangements along the way. As usual their vibrant musical
optimism is made more caustic with thorny lyrics. The lead single Better In Yellow shines as a fine example of folk pop on the EP. Sometimes features Ferris and Sylvester’s conversational vocal style at their best with their bittersweet harmonies digging right in to your ear. Loser continues the duo’s love of word play and London’s Blues adds a change of direction with a toe tapping country blues track to wrap up the EP.
Hardened fans of folk and country may find their lazy bank Holiday feel too safe, but its pure poetry for Millennials who love a retro fringe to their music.
