Happy, comprising of Tate Logan (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Jack Eskridge (Guitar), Caleb Rucker (Drums), and Sean Bowick (Bass), is more than just a pop punk band from Columbia, SC. Formed in 2016, Happy released a successful EP entitled, The Endless Bummer, before signing with independent record label, Rude Records in early 2018. The band's mission, to provide a sense of nostalgia for listeners with a sound that is full of infectious melodic hooks, oozing with catchy harmonies. The band has been hard at work since their signing, releasing a string of new singles, including their latest, “Fishtank” recorded, produced and engineered by Will Pugh of Cartel and mastered by Cameron Boucher of Sorority Noise. The single is about being in an unhealthy relationship but not being able to see the issues from the inside. Tate Logan had this to add about the track:
“The line "you say you are red flags but please, rose colored glasses look good on me" actually comes from a line in Bojack Horseman that goes "when you look at someone through rose colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags" and that stuck with me. Sometimes when you're caught up in a toxic relationship you can be blinded by the comfort of repetition and familiarity, and fail to listen to what your loved ones are telling you. The message is, sometimes the people who know you best really do have your best interest in mind, and sometimes it's good to listen to them, even if it's not what you want to hear"
The single is a follow up to their recent release, “Winona Ryder” which exclusively premiered with PopDust and was also recorded, produced and engineered by Will Pugh of Cartel and mastered by Cameron Boucher of Sorority Noise. Earlier this year, Happy. released “Don’t Overdose and Drive,” an infectious track also recorded, where the 4-piece got to showcase their inner spirit by taking over a Chuck E. Cheese location for the music video - the ultimate ode to the Animatronics. The track is available for purchase here. Happy. are diligently working on new songs, creating music that promotes positivity, personal growth, and self-defined happiness.
