TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?
Our latest release is our album 'Memento Mori'. It's our first release, and is almost completely live tracked. It consists of eight songs.
WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?
Our album has many themes surrounding people and the life choices they make, and how they result in the reality they are living. Themes such as money, occupations, and societal expectations; things that can exist positively or negatively depending on perspective, but we make our own perspectives clear on said subjects.
We believe that the driving force for life is death, and once you face that reality you can make the most of your time and your life and decide whether or not these subjects define you. Pursue your own greatness mercilessly.
HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?
We recorded almost the entirety of the album in two days.
HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?
We wrote the songs by improvising as a group, and developing parts of the improv sessions that resonated with us. This resulted in songs that we're all very proud of.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?
We each have a favorite song on the album, Kate (Guitar/vocals) likes 'What You Can't See', Zach (bass) likes 'Black Sheep', and Mike (drums) likes 'Let Live' the most.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?
Our primary influences are classic powerhouses Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, as well as the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Who.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
We formed the band in highschool with bassist Zach Barnes as the founding member. We used to meet at Kate's house and write songs in her basement.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?
Be fearless. There are a lot of sharks, and a lot of fish in the sea. Find out what makes you specifically shine and utilize that talent.
WHAT IS NEXT?
We are working on our second album to be released in 2020. We truly believe it is our best work to date, and we're very excited to bring it to the table.
