VITAL NOISE INTERVIEW

Vital Noise is a Rock band from Los Angeles, California.

Brothers Andrew and Preston Wilmot have had a passion for music and have been playing together ever since they could remember. They began playing in various teen bands around LA in 2010. Since then, they been writing, recording, and gigging all over Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Over the last several years they have rocked the stage countless times at venues including The Roxy, The

Whisky a Go Go, The Mint, The Federal Bar, The Canyon Club and other clubs and charity events throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. In 2016, they were selected as one of the top 49 young emerging artists in the entire country by The House of Blues Music Forward Foundation. Through this honor, they rocked the stage at the legendary Wiltern Theater in a concert that highlighted seven Los Angeles area bands. Later that year, they were selected by The Live the Dream Tour Foundation as one their ReverbNation "30 Artists To Watch" and were honored as VIPs at their Foundation gala. In January 2017, Vital Noise were chosen by the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation to be the opening act for the notable NAMM JAM 2017 concert, produced by Delve Texas. They played in front of a large music industry rock and roll crowd along with the metal giants LIKE A STORM, and world famous rockers BUCKCHERRY. They received rave reviews from the crowd and the rock press that attended the event. Vital Noise recently spent time in the studio and is getting ready to release their debut album.

HI THERE THANKS FOR ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS FOR US.

Yeah, of course!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM/ PROJECT?

Our newest upcoming release is our debut full length EP. It has taken a long time in the making but it should be out in the coming months.

WHAT INSPIRED ANY CENTRAL THEMES ON THE ALBUM?

I guess the central theme would just be overall life experiences. We like to write about different things that we have been through, different relationships we’ve been in, etc.. We pulled from a lot of those experiences when writing the album.

HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND RECORDING?

It took a long time to record the album. We didn’t really record it in one span, but whenever we were all able to get into the studio. Sometimes it would be a day here, or a week there, so all in all it ended up taking about 2 years.

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?

We first started just jamming songs out, typically starting with a riff or lyric idea and building on that. From there, we made rough demos, and listened back to what worked and what didn’t and finally took the finished product into the studio when we were able to.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRACK FROM THE ALBUM?

All of us would have to say our favorite track would be a song called “Famous”. It has been our favorite once since we first wrote it and has continued to be ever since.

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?

We’re all influenced by a ton of different artists. Musically, we draw influences from bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, and Slipknot. But we also draw huge influence from artists like Post Malone and The Weeknd.

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

Our singer/ guitarist, Andrew, and our bass player, Preston are brothers. Over the course of the years we have played with several different drummers as part of the line up.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?

Just keep practicing and have fun!

WHAT IS NEXT?

We are currently writing some new music, in addition to our new release. So stay tuned!
