I am the _Motor_City_Cyborg_ Justin Kelter of the Industrial metal band, ObsElite.
we are a cyberpunk themed outfit from Detroit, Michigan, USA.
and our music and entire aesthetic is based on Sci-fi and cyberpunk culture found in movies, TV shows, video games, comics/manga, and anime.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
Our latest album, Ghost//Hack is our first full length album. it came out February 22, 2022.
Like I described above, it's a full on Cyberpunk themed album that surrounds topics like Technological
singularity, Bio-engineered humans, Cybernetic beings of omnipotence, Futuristic megacorporations, and concepts like “Does an artificial being have a soul?”
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
Outside from the themes, music wise, bands like Fear Factory, static x, Celldweller, and 3teeth
really helped shape what kind of sound we wanted to go for.

Lots of records changed my life. we all listen to a variety of different styles of music.

WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
I do a lot, I go to a lot of Metal shows, goth clubs, electronic shows, watch anime, cosplay, and party at conventions, I model techwear clothing, play and collect retro and modern games, I’m constantly doing something eventful.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
The first minute before going on stage I get a little jittery, but once the first note of the first song hits I’m in the zone. I usually have a drink to calm my nerves before performing. but not too many hahah!
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
Ryan and Kiel are two of my closest friends and we have always been involved in the music world individually. once my old thrash metal band fell apart I wanted to do something different so we all decided to get together and write Industrial music.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER?
We all work together, record our own music on the spot, and mess with the mix until we are happy with it, then send it off to our Sound engineer, Adam Shepard.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Pretty much everything listed above. Music, video games, movies, anime, media in general. but also being a source of influence to others and being recognized for our talents really drives us to put out the best product we possibly can.
WHAT IS NEXT?
We are planning to do more music videos so people can get a real good visual representation of our futuristic aesthetic. we have a big debut show planned in Detroit for this summer, an upcoming tour, and we hope that we can create a community out of sound and visual artistic expressions, hope to find a good label willing to financial back us to create even better content.
