PLEASE TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF... Hi, I’m Gavi! While I’m the face of the project, this is a collaborative effort driven by a shared mission: to create empathy, understanding, and connection through music and storytelling. We believe that the world needs more balance, perspective, and compassion, and our goal is to foster those things through relatable and immersive experiences. My team and I are passionate about turning real-life challenges into art that helps people feel seen and understood.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE I just released my debut album, The Seasonal Affective Disorder :(SAD): Experience. It’s not just an album—it’s a story. The songs and “experience tracks” walk listeners through a journey of heartbreak, growth, and finding hope. The project was inspired by one of the hardest times in my life, but it’s ultimately about resilience and rediscovery.
WHICH SONG WOULD YOU SAY SUMS UP YOUR SOUND THE BEST? All my songs are different but have that signature "Gavi" sound—a mix of raw emotion, storytelling, and connection. If I had to choose one, “Watch It Bleed” is the best example. It blends vulnerability with storytelling and reflects the honesty I strive to bring to every project.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO MUSIC? In third grade, I realized I could mimic voices, and it became a party trick that got people’s attention. That curiosity about vocal impressions grew into a love for singing. Later, when my dad had a life-changing accident, I turned to songwriting as a way to cope. Music became my therapy, helping me process my emotions. From there, I knew it was my calling.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WRITING AND RECORDING DAY LOOK LIKE? Most days, I spend time working on vocal stacks, ad-libs, or other production elements for our current project—while balancing animation teams, social media, and all that other good stuff. It’s a lot to juggle, but I love every part of it.
HOW DID YOU GET YOUR BAND NAME/STAGE NAME? My name is Gavriel, which comes from the Bible and means “Hero of G-d.” In the story, the angel Gavriel erased hatred from the land of Sdom, which resonates deeply with me. My goal is to do the same—erase hatred and hostility through my music and storytelling. My nickname, Gavi, is a natural extension of Gavriel, and it represents the personal and approachable side of the project.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST THING ABOUT YOUR MUSIC JOURNEY SO FAR? The hardest part has been facing hate because of the way I was born. It’s tough to see years of hard work and progress overshadowed by something beyond your control. It’s a reminder of why I do this—music has the power to bring people together and fight against hate.
WHAT’S BEEN THE EASIEST? Collaborating with my team has been the easiest and most rewarding part. When you work with people who share your vision, the creative process feels natural.
WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING IF YOU WEREN’T MAKING MUSIC? I’d be a relationship therapist—it’s practically the same thing! I’d probably also teach philosophy, linguistics, and psychology on the side.
WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN? “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” It’s a reminder to stay authentic and not let fear of judgment hold you back, even when it’s scary.” It’s a reminder that staying true to yourself is the only way to create something meaningful.
WHAT’S NEXT? Our next project is called PTSD (Past the Seasonal Depression), and I’m so excited for everyone to hear the new direction we’ve taken. This concept is only getting stronger, and I can’t wait to share how we’ve grown as a team.
