Q & A GORETHRONE

PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF FOR US WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOU AND YOUR

MUSIC AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.

We are Gorethrone from Grand Rapids Michigan, and we play blackened deathcore. Just this past April we released our EP The Descension, and currently, we are working on a full length album.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?

Our album is seven songs, and range from melodic to brutal with plenty of breakdowns. Right now, we just have a lyric video for Celestial Noose, but we have some more on the way.

WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?

I would say just to go as heavy as possible, and put in as many breakdowns as possible.

CAN YOU SUM UP THE ALBUM IN A FEW WORDS?

Melodic brutality

WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?

It would probably be Korn's first album. After hearing that album, all I wanted to do was play like Head and Munky.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER

ARTIST?

I really like the "Baba Yaga" Video by Slaughter to Prevail. As well as that, the "Hostage" video by Chelsea Grin is one of my all-time favorites.

WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?

We all play games and hang out together. For example, we went kayaking as a band and it was sick!

DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?

The Vocalist does for sure. It is tough-talking to a crowd. He said he just goes with the flow and thrives in the chaos. It's more so pre-show jitters

HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?

It started with A Bassist and I, and we found our other guitarist, then we found our drummer and vocalist. After our first show, the bassist left and we changed our name from Behold the Wicked to Gorethrone.

HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER?

The other Guitarist and I will come up with most of a song and bring it to the jam, and then the Drummer gets his part down. After we work out all the kinks and have it down together, we get an instrumental recording,

and the Vocalist writes lyrics to it.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

We get a lot of our inspiration from deathcore stuff, like the new Lorna Shore stuff or Slaughter to Prevail.

WHAT IS NEXT

As of right now, we are writing for our upcoming album that we plan on releasing by the end of this year.

PLEASE TELL US ANY SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS SO WE CAN SHARE.

You can find our EP on Spotify and Apple Music, and we have a Bandcamp you can purchase the album at. We also have a Youtube with the lyric video for Celestial Noose, and a couple live songs we recorded.
