PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF FOR US WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOU AND YOUR MUSIC AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
- Hello...hello...hello.. My name is Ricky Elam, and I am the lead singer/frontman of VYCE//VERSA. I was born in Northern California and now live in Phoenix, Arizona.
Music is LIFE, and that's what you'll hear in every song from VYCE//VERSA!
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM OR SINGLE?
- So our single "Life Is Temporary" is the debut single for VYCE//VERSA. We are super excited for the release and to get our music out to everyone!
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM OR SINGLE?
- So we wanted to write a song that was positive for people to listen to. A song that everyone can turn to when they are feeling low and depressed about life. A song that screams... Don't let the troubles from your past cripple your future. A song to remind us all that LIFE IS TEMPORARY!

- New, but familiar!
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
- I can't really say any single record has changed my life. I will say this though, Garth Brooks is the entire reason why I have been singing my whole life. At a very young age I started learning how to sing all of his songs.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO FILMED BY YOUR BAND OR ANOTHER ARTIST?
- I like music videos that have storylines. Adam's Song from Blink-182 has a cool music video.
WHAT WOULD WE FIND YOU DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT MAKING MUSIC?
- Out cleaning pools in the hot heat of Arizona. I own a pool cleaning company.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS PERFORMING LIVE, IF SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
- No I don't get nervous. Sometimes I get a little to excited and go legit ham on stage. Lol
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
- Rhandy DeGarmo and I were in a metal band prior to VYCE//VERSA and when that band disolved, we decided it was time to do something different that was fresh and fealt good.
HOW DO YOU WRITE? - DO YOU HAVE A KEY SONGWRITER, OR DO YOU ALL WORK TOGEHTER?
- We write a couple different ways. Usually I'll get demo tracks from the band to write lyrics to. But sometimes I'll bring lyrics with a melody and we'll write music around them.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
- Music inspires me. The art, creativity and emotion that goes into it feeds my soul. Also the connection to the fans through the music and how it touches their soul greatly inspires me.
WHAT IS NEXT?
- More writing and creating new music.
