TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW ALBUM
So our new EP is due for release this summer, we’ve not finalized the date yet. We have been working with our producer Will Jackson of Soundworks Studios, formerly of Kaiser Chiefs, Pigeon Detectives among others. We are happy with the vibe running through our tunes and we think it’s going to be a good 'en! There will be 5 tracks on there which will all be available through our website, on social media platforms and any music streaming platform. Please check out our Facebook for release dates www.facebook.com/MossieBand
HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE SONGWRITING PROCESS?
Song writing is usually done in 2 ways for us. It’s either we have some words and we try to write music that kind of grasps what you are trying to say. Or we find a cool riff, and a nice sound and then we try to write some words to it. We generally develop something over a few sessions and decide whether it’s worth keeping or not, it’s all just experimenting with different sounds and words etc really and jamming it out a lot of the time.
WHAT INSPIRED THE ALBUM?
I guess life, we generally write about stuff that’s going on, things that affect people daily. We spent some time working on a few demo songs and we think we’re ready now to create our sound and get an album out there.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TRACK?
As in someone elses track? Hhhhhmmmm That’s a tough question man. There is a song for every mood / emotion / time and place I guess. I’m a big fan of The Verves Bittersweet Symphony and Oasis’ Champagne Supernova. Mainly because it reminds me of growing up and the crazy stuff I did with mates as a kid.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?
There could be a long list here but I guess the main ones would be Ocean Color Scene, Oasis, The Rolling Stones, Stone Roses.
WHAT RECORD CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
Another interesting one! There are some powerful songs out there with real meaning. We like to write about real things and real emotion there are a few songs out there which definitely have that. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, How To Save a Life by The Frey, Yesterday the Beatles. I could go on. . .
WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING IF YOU DIDN'T MAKE MUSIC?
Something creative I reckon, like an architect maybe. I hope to design and build my own place someday maybe.
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECORD ONE OF YOUR SONGS, AND WHICH ONE?
I’d quite like Royal Blood to do a cover on our new track ‘Outta Time’ that would be interesting.
HOW DID YOU FORM THE BAND?
A couple of us actually met at a gig night where we decided to get together and work on some stuff. The rest of the band was then cherry picked from other bands that we’d seen play locally based on the fact we would like similar music and have similar ambitions. Basically we all wanted to Rock n Roll
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE STARTING OUT?
It takes time, just stick at it, find your zone and try to stay in that. It takes a lot of time and effort but it’s all worth it
WHAT IS NEXT?
Album release and upcoming tour this summer! Keep your ears peeled guys n gals! Peace!
