There is always a deeper meaning to Calva Louise’s output, and “Lo Que Vale,” their new single is no different. Translated into English as ‘What is Worth,’ it delves into the human psyche and our personal perception.

The song is taken from their Mascot Records debut, Edge of the Abyss, which is co-produced by Pendulum's Gareth McGrillen and will be released on 11 July. The band's story is truly unique and feeds into the extraordinary narrative running through the album.

They are the band that found each other from opposite corners of the world - whose combined influences and experiences created a myriad of captivating threads entwined into their existence. Metal, punk, electronica and art rock weave through grandiose narratives and cinematic storytelling with a mind-blowing visual delivery - Welcome to the Calva Louise Universe.

Following their European tour with Bloodywood, “Lo Que Vale” drops as a reminder of their sheer scope of ideas that they are able to pack into a single song. A frenetic combination of raging riffs and vocals meet with elegantly dancing keyboard melodies, before being thrown around the room with a formidable force. Like their 2024 single, “La Corriente”, it pays homage to singer-guitarist Jess Allinac’s Venezuelan roots, sung in Spanish and is an important part of their identity.

“Lo Que Vale deals with the honest confusion and contradiction of our personal perception: when we think we understand something, we might actually be getting it wrong, and when everything seems upside down, maybe that’s when it is not,” the band explains.

“These honest exchanges in life act as triggers for letting go of the attachments that keep us chained to our mundane delusions. And while looking to break free of the irrelevant and continuous patterns that keep us stuck in one place, confusion builds up to the point of asking oneself if we’re really appreciating what is worth living for.”

'The Edge of the Abyss' sees characters travelling between different dimensions, with people who mysteriously resemble doubles of each of us, like shadows that seem to stalk us but who, in reality, seek to communicate. Who are these beings? What do they want from us? How can we reach them?

Lo Que Vale, follows their recent single, Aimless - a reflective catharsis of human communication. The incredible cinematic sci-fi videos for the album singles show different times and worlds where some characters have encounters with their 'doubles'. W.T.F is the prequel of the previous singles: La Corriente and Under The Skin - all directed and VFX by Jess.

To coincide with Red Giant’s May 2025 UK tour supporting Troy Redfern, today the band release a cover of Robert Johnson’s 1930s blues classic “If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day.”

Released by Radio Silent Records on Friday April 25th, “Judgement Day” is available on all streaming platforms

Using only the words and a barely recognizable 12-bar structure to betray its origins, Red Giant take “Judgement Day” to new heights by channelling the song as a dark and sombre vehicle on a journey into a world of lost love and pain.

Driven by a primeval, tribal drumbeat, powerful dual lead vocals, sporadic droning bass and ambient guitar, the song becomes overpowering in its intensity as it reaches its climax and dies into quiet resolution.

Red Giant’s tasteful rendition of Robert Johnson’s seminal “If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day” is an exceptional and unique treatment of a blues classic brought into the 21st century.

Red Giant is a new guitar band formed by YouTube presenter and guitar prodigy, Dave Simpson who has amassed over 141,000 YouTube followers.

The latest single from new album from multi-instrumentalist and voice behind Blackmore's Night

Award-winning musician and singer Candice Night returns with “Sea Glass,” her first solo album in a decade and now available worldwide on earMUSIC as a limited-edition Gatefold LP with sea glass colored vinyl and lyric book, Deluxe CD Digipak with lyric booklet, and Digital.

“Sea Glass” (on which Candice serves as Executive Producer) finds the artist in a unique place in her life and career. Over a 25 career which has seen Blackmore’s Night emerge as a unique chart-topping phenomenon blending medieval and renaissance music as well as collaborations including Helloween and William Shatner, she has also raised a family with husband Ritchie Blackmore.

“Sea Glass” is an album that observes life through a prism - looking through a kaleidoscope of sea glass colors with their own special glow at a lifetime of challenging musical adventures as well as the magic and demands of everyday life and family.

“The idea of sea glass was that these pieces, these sharp shards of glass are completely thrown away and discarded and end up being taken away by the tumbling ocean, softened by time and returned to the land as these treasures that pop up. We go through this breaking down process. Our edges get ground down and we return to our land as treasures. And other people can see that in us as well.” – Candice Night

The album draws from rock and country influences on tracks such as first single ‘Angel and Jezebel’ (featured on the album in two versions) as well as deft acoustic pop with ‘Unsung Hero (She’ll Never Tell)’.” Thematically “Sea Glass” touches on themes of loss and love (‘Sea Glass’ and ‘The Last Goodbye’ – both featuring Ritchie Blackmore on guitar) as well as the bond between parents and children and their wishes and dreams for the future (‘Promise Me,’ which, fittingly, features contributions from Candice’s son and daughter).

“Sea Glass,” features nine Candice Night compositions and a version of the beloved standard “Nature Boy,” brought together by Candice on what may be her most personal album to date. It is a journey across time and tides

“No longer lost upon the sand...” Sea Glass” is for you to treasure...” - Candice Night
