“I’ve always loved how intense and theatrical this song is,” Fish shares. "It gave me the perfect opportunity to dig into the darker, more haunting side of my sound."
Following this release, Fish embarks on a European tour across the UK, Germany, and Holland, further showcasing her mastery of live performances. Fish has just wrapped up the Experience Hendrix Tour, where she shared the stage with blues legends like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. In November, she will headline the Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating the label’s pivotal role in shaping modern blues.
“I Put A Spell on You” comes hot on the heels of Fish's recent three-song EP, which featured reimagined versions of fan favourites "Faster," "Crowd Control," and "Better Be Lonely." While studio work allows her to reinvent herself, Fish insists, “the stage is where the real magic happens. I connect with the audience in a way that transforms the music into something alive.”
European Tour Begins October 4th
Fish’s much-anticipated European tour kicks off in Birmingham, UK, on October 4th, making stops in iconic venues across the UK, Germany, and Holland. This follows a packed year of performances, including her participation in the Experience Hendrix tour, where she paid homage to the legendary Jimi Hendrix alongside some of the most celebrated guitarists in the industry.
Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour
In November, Fish will take center stage for the Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour, beginning November 7th in Pittsburgh. Joining her on the tour will be blues icons Canned Heat, Mitch Ryder, Bernard Allison, and Ghalia Volt, among others. The tour is a celebration of the label’s rich legacy and its future, with Fish at the forefront of modern blues music. "It’s an honor to be part of this incredible lineup and to continue pushing the boundaries of the genre," says Fish.
Critical Acclaim for Samantha Fish
Fish has garnered widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. Guitar World praises her as "one of the most promising young blues performers," while No Depression highlights her genre-blending abilities, describing her as an artist who can "take you on a journey through country, blow your blues away, or slam you with some raucous rock." Garden & Gun calls her "one of the new guitar greats," a sentiment echoed by Guitarist Magazine, which declares, “Samantha Fish is a force to be reckoned with.”
Acclaimed blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor has just released her latest single, “All The Things I Said,” now available on all major streaming platforms. As the first song written for her upcoming new studio album, “All The Things I Said” captures a moment of looking back on a past relationship with hard-earned wisdom, acknowledging the flaws that led to its demise while seeking mutual acceptance.
“This is the first song I wrote for the new album,” Joanne shares. “It’s about reflecting on a past relationship and accepting your part in its failure as well as asking your ex-partner to do the same. It’s also about how you can reflect on a love relationship and with the benefit of time you can see how you could have done things differently.”
With its candid lyrics and dynamic delivery, “All The Things I Said” is a powerful testament to Joanne’s ability to translate deeply personal experiences into universally relatable stories. The song also sees Joanne expanding her songwriting prowess, channelling influences reminiscent of John Mayer while seamlessly blending them with pop sensibilities for a fresh, contemporary sound. This track follows the recent release of, “Black & Gold,” a soulful, blues-gospel rendition of Sam Sparro’s 2008 Grammy-nominated hit. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith), Joanne’s powerful vocals and emotive interpretation transformed “Black & Gold” into a compelling, classic-sounding track that balances modern sensibilities with an almost retro feel.
With praise from legends like Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox and a career that has spanned over a decade, Joanne Shaw Taylor continues to solidify her status as one of today’s most prominent voices in blues rock. Her next studio album is set to be released early next year. It promises to deliver more of the fearless songwriting and stirring performances that have earned her critical acclaim and a devoted fan base worldwide.
Joanne is gearing up for a busy fall as she prepares to hit the road for an extensive U.S. tour, bringing her dynamic live performances to audiences across the country. The “Heavy Soul” U.S. Tour will kick off in Carmel, IN on October 23rd and will see Joanne making stops in major cities including Kansas City, Seattle, Austin, and many more, before wrapping up in Baton Rouge on November 24th. Fans can expect to hear highlights from Heavy Soul alongside new songs from her forthcoming album, which is coming out next year.
